The Emergence of Melbourne’s Northbank Precinct

15 December 2020

Riverlee together with a collective of major landowners including Mirvac and Peakstone (Zone Q Investments) have formed the Northbank Precinct Group, in a bid to transform the remnants of Melbourne’s original waterfront into a new mixed-use precinct and give back to all Melburnians an exciting place to reconnect with the Northern banks of the Yarra River.

The Northbank Precinct Group is set to invest nearly $1 billion in the revitalisation of the Northbank precinct over the next five years.

With a prime-time view of the Yarra River, Northbank will soon be home to Seafarers Rest, a new 3,500sqm public park, Melbourne Skyfarm, eco-luxury hotel brand 1 Hotel & Homes and Seafarers Residences, more than 70,000 sqm of new A-Grade and Premium office space, a new Build-to-Rent community, in addition to a state-of-the-art events venue, dining and retail.

Enthralled with a rich maritime history dating back to the 1800s, Northbank will bear the hallmarks of times gone by while providing all Melburnians a new waterfront neighbourhood to live, visit and explore.
