Quarterly Update – Making a positive impact

20 June 2023

In this update, we are thrilled to share our commitment to making a positive impact in the communities we work with in our inaugural Volunteering Week, where we collectively contributed our time and efforts to meaningful causes.

We celebrate the completion of our first residential project at New Epping, providing much needed homes for those facing housing challenges. We also highlight our ongoing asset portfolio sustainability commitments as well as sharing an insightful interview with our Development Director, David Lee and The Fifth Estate on adaptive land reuse.

Connecting team and community during Volunteering Week

595 volunteer hours over four local charities

Through the collective efforts of over 34 Riverlee team members, our inaugural Volunteering Week contributed a combined effort of 595 volunteer hours at four local charities located across Melbourne.

Aligned with our vision of creating thriving communities, Volunteering Week was developed by Riverlee’s Impact Committee in collaboration with the Riverlee Foundation to extend the impact of Riverlee’s ongoing philanthropic work.

“Not only does this participation allow us to support these critically important charity organisations, it provides our team with a lasting experience that allows them to learn, grow, and support others, which is the same spirit they look to evoke when developing future communities,” says Tricia Lee, Director, Family Office & Riverlee Foundation.

New Epping setting an adaptive reuse benchmark

Regeneration and sustainability approach at New Epping

Demonstrating a deep appreciation of the site’s rich history and intricate environmental features, we’re realising a visionary regeneration and sustainability approach at New Epping as we mindfully plan to restore its 51 hectares of dormant land.

“We prefer projects that involve the adaptive reuse of existing buildings. We like to bring a piece of history from the old site into our new developments. And at Epping, we are applying the same principle rehabilitating land.” – David Lee, Development Director at Riverlee.
